Alberta Summer Games Artwork – “After the Game”
“After the Game”
In response to a request to create artwork to represent the Alberta Summer Games, the École Leduc Junior High School grade 9 art class chose to create a sculpture made of baseball bats. Inspired by the idea of many different people coming together to compete, the students decided to paint each bat to represent each sport and district in the summer games.
Made of used bats that were donated from the local baseball association, the look of this piece was inspired by the aftermath of an exciting game when celebrating a win took priority over organization. We hope it makes you feel like celebrating the young athletes competing.
